Food Security Networks, Policy Councils, and Agencies

Find out which food security networks and food policy councils exist in your community by exploring the interactive map. Find out which BC organizations and agencies are working on food security.

Food Security Agencies include provincial government ministries, seven health authorities, provincially-funded initiatives, and other BC-wide organizations.

Food Policy Councils are made up of members representing various sectors of the food system.  They identify emerging food issues that will impact their municipality or region and work to influence them through policy and programs. Typically they collaborate with the municipal or regional government.

Food Security Networks are coalitions of community members, organizations, agencies, and businesses who work collaboratively to address food security.
