The Gateway’s Community of Practice (CoP) convenes folks throughout the traditional Indigenous territories we call BC who are engaged in food systems, food policy, food networks, and food movement work at the community level. We are currently meeting twice a month to support each other during the pandemic.
Read our gentle recaps of the last 5+ weeks of conversations during the pandemic.
CoP members have been featured in the media, offering grounded action and a vision for how we grow a more resilient food system – a compelling alternative to the charitable food bank model. Check out the news highlights below for news from Jen Cody at Nanaimo FoodShare, Aaren Topley with Can You Dig it, and Anita Georgy of Farm Folk City Folk.
Maurita Prato of Lush Valley is podcasting; Community Food Security in a Pandemic Episode 2 is now live.
